Kathy Russell commenced Calisthenics at the age of six at a Lower Plenty class which was taught by Enid Feltham - subsequently being invited to attend the Regent Calisthenics College. Kathy was a pupil of Regent for 22 years, being coached by Enid Feltham and Dianne Synott. Some of the many highlights during these years include; being part of many championship aggregate winning teams, achieving her Gold medal, winning the ASC Graceful girl and gaining 2nd and 3rd places at Ballarat in the Graceful girl section. Kathy has been coaching at Canadian Bay for the past 12 years and a Canadian Bay 'Mum' for the past seven years.
Cathy Margrie commenced Calisthenics at the age of six with Beaumaris Calisthenic College under Pat Miles who instilled in her the love of our sport. She also trained with Joy Fildes at Jason and after a break went back and worked in the senior team at Highett under Wendy Scorer. During that time she also assisted in coaching the sub Juniors and solos. Cathy then moved to Sydney and on her return to Melbourne became assistant coach once more at Highett this time with the Intermediate team and solo classes. Cathy happily joined the Canadian Bay family as a coach in 2003 and the word "family" has a significant value to her , as over the past 16 years 7 of her nieces have been students of the club; 4 nieces are currently performing and teaching with the club. She loves to encourage all the students to be their best, to work hard and have fun.
